If you are planning on refueling in Port MacDonnell, fuel is only available at some self serve bowsers at the boat ramp. If it is wet and windy it is a very exposed spot to fuel up. Alternatively there are a number of servos in Mt Gambier.

I am still going.  Leaving Adelaide Saturday morning then back after lunch.  Adelaide is the only direction I can ride without road closures.  Getting a little fenced in here next to the Murray.

I'm out.

Heading to NQ instead.

Enjoy the roads.

Reader 57;

Bit envious , YES Glad you are going , no matter when I leave , be it Thurs which would be ideal ..
Or in the small dark time hours of Friday morning , to get an over night in Victoria ..
I have no idea . The water falling is grr 😖 after long enough .. really Grrrr 😖
It's the water rising above the black top .
There is our ... .. all of us , at any time , on any trip .
That's where my head is .. been caught before , detour , nearly run my old " K "  out of fuel .
Don't always carry 5ltrs  with me ..

Seriously thinking this one ...
Please , everyone be safe out there

Hi all, 10 I think, I didn't count, riders made the ride to Port MacDonnell for the long distant meet up on Saturday. We all had lunch in the Victoria Hotel and chatted about all things long distant riding past, present and future. This was going to be only my second FarRide but my tally for that venture will forever remain at 1. I did manage over 1000 km but not within 24 hours. It was a more leisurely ride by a couple of hours.
Thanks to all the more experienced riders for making me feel welcome.
Roll on 2023 and the iRodes.

After an enjoyable meet-up at the Victoria Hotel in Port MacDonnell with about 10 like minded distance riders, Joymor & I headed for home via Nelson and Geelong before cruising through Melbourne arriving home in South Gippsland before my 10pm Saturday night curfew.
We ticked over 1150 kms for the ride and avoided nearly all the rain and flooded roads.
The venue was top notch and is certainly worth a visit if you are in the Mount Gambier region.

Rumour has it that a certain rider from NORTH of the Hawkesbury River may have to lost his SOUTH of the Hawkesbury riding companion before they left the town limits of Port Mac. We were able to reunite them at Warrnambool and send them on their way. ;)

As ZigZag said, bring on 2023 so we can all get back to serious but enjoyable long distance rides.
