2023 East North ride location discussion

I would love to be on the first North East ride in the new world.  The first 3 weekends in April are out for me because  I am off to tour NZ South Island a trip I booked for 2020. Other than that I wil do all I can to make it work.

Unfortunately I have a function on the 1st April myself so I'd be out that weekend.

If we went for the 30th April (Sunday) it is a long weekend and give people the chance to use the days either side. Just a suggestion.

Let's face it- every weekend will have something on for somebody.  For the very reason the 30th is a long weekend, I'm already booked then.  But it's a majority rules thing, so I'll accept the verdict.

Agree Biggles there will always be something on for someone no matter what weekend we look at and we will never be able to get everybody there. 

I think we need to move ahead and book something otherwise it will be next weekend and nobody attending. 

We need a bit more activity in here to keep this going forward, other wise it may just be you and I meeting up somewhere.  😂

Are we any closer to a date and place yet?

Doesn't look like too many participants yet Ox so I am thinking I might just nominate a date and see what response we get.  Give me until Friday and if we don't have any more input I think I'll throw a dart at the board and make a post. 

I intend on nominating a small town out of the way to get people riding in the middle of nowhere and and around the middle to late May to allow people time to plan.

May I suggest the 15th April.
The first weekend we in NSW are still in daylight saving time and beside trying to workout what time to get the fuel docket the clocks have to be changed on Sunday.
Now I don't know about others she who must be obeyed in this house is digitally disadvantaged so when she wakes up on Sunday morning the house clocks will show one time and her iPhone and Iwatch will show another time so as she spends Sunday in two time zones she will be darkly muttering words that include matches,petrol tank,motorbike.
The next weekend is Easter which is out and Anzac Day is on Tuesday 25th and it wouldn't surprise me for the powers that be in NSW to make it a long weekend so they can impose a double demerit weekend and the 29th is too far away.

Forgot to mention that daylight saving finishes on Sunday morning 2nd so Friday and Saturday are in daylight saving time and Sunday morning clocks go back an hour

OK boys and girls I am going to suggest the ride location be in Alpha, CQ on the weekend of the 20th May 2023. 

I know this is a little later than discussed however there are a few reasons to allow for some extra riders to attend, getting around rosters for me, and allowing for time to plan rides.  The distance is 1000km from Brisbane and I am a big one for remote locations and supporting the remote areas. 

I would also encourage a game on the way to include as many of the alphabet letters you can muster in the 48hr period from the day before, to the day after to allow for return riders.
