Hi Kwaka
Congrats on getting the FAR ROAD forum up and running Bazz, you efforts are much appreciated.
Registration worked well for me too.
:) :)
Hey, great job.
Onya Fatman and thanks mate.
GTK that the registration process is going smoothly.
@Giggles cheers for that.
Well done Kwaka on creating the new FAR ROAD forum... Now let's get out and ride!
Kwaka,
Glad you've taken the bull by the horns, and got something done!
Use of SMF a good choice.
Hope to see you in person 'soon'.
Best Regards,
(Tiger)Bill
Thank you Lynne and yup, sounds like a plan!
It's alive!
Well done Bazz. Looking forward to a renewed future.
Will Far Road crosspost RTE details with IBA AUS?

Cheers Bill, thanks for your feedback.
SMF was a no brainer as I was hoping there existed a database backup that I could shoehorn in floating around somewhere. Not the case apparently. Plus, it is a GUI we're all familiar with.

Lol, welcome Rod and yes, renewed and more congenial too.
Nothing formal in place but relevant info has always been shared/posted hasn't it?
Thanks for continuing the concept. Great Job Kwaka!

Hi All
Thanks Kwaka for getting something going in the vacuum.
I'm not riding much any more and LD riding is not in my future, but it'll be nice to be able to keep up with goings on in the LDriding world.
Cheers
Well! The gang's all here! ;D
Great to see you on board Clint, even if you're just watching the action from the lounge chair.
I like the whole presentation as I see it, Baz. A nice clean font and easy-on-the-eyes colours. Maybe a banner photo later on to make it a bit more homely. I'm hoping a lot of the FR material can be resurrected, especially the database.
Is it intended folks get to keep their FR number or is that all being consigned to the dust of history?

Quote from: Ed. on Sep 08, 2022, 09:15 AMWell well, another chapter in the winding, variable surfaced, potholed and occasionally landslip impacted road that is Australian LD riding.
Here's to a spell of fair weather and fewer trucks breaking up the road that was always meant for the riding of motorcycles!
Welcome to the newly surfaced Far Road Ed.
Nice piece of prose that, eloquently put. Certainly am looking forward to calmer waters and silky smooth hot mix.

Wake up call was a freebie, no need to thank me. ;D
Hi. Sgt Schultz here.
Few years inactive due, as some of you know, to major health issues.
Have been somewhat disappointed with PV.
The legacy of Davo being walked over.
I joined FarRiders after meeting David Jones and a few reprobates at the Kawasaki GTR-Aus meet at Clare.
I was drawn in by his openness and genuine love of all things bikes and his ability to connect with people.
The FarRiders began through GTR then obviously developed and became a separate entity as it grew.
It was a stepping stone for those who had a desire to take part in longer distance rides without the pressures of a full on IBA ride.
Davo managed to get FarRiders recognised with the IBA.
He put a great deal of work in developing this.
It was traumatic for everyone who knew him when he died just short of completing the IBA ride in America.
There is a great deal of history from GTR Aus, FarRiders and IBA.
One man's arrogance and disdain for this should not be allowed to downgrade and lose the long distance ride history.
My numbers are GTR-AUS 89, IBA 45920, FR 299.
Despite my inability to ride now I keep these with pride.
And thanks for letting me register.
I can still ride vicariously through the ride reports.
Welcome home Sarge, really good to see you here.
Sorry to hear of your health issues preventing your two wheeled enjoyment.
Personally and I guess like most of us, we feel and share your sentiment.
Thank you for joining up, supporting and contributing.
Fantastic job Kwaka, this forum will assist many riders and the future progression of LD riding in Australia.
Hey Bazz, before this train gets too far down the tracks, maybe you'd like to consult with some of the other folks trying to pull things together, like Wombat over here in WA?
Thanks Kwaka for getting this up and running.
It's good to have OUR forum back on line. Regardless of all the issues, it still is and always will be OUR forum.
FJReggie
G'day everyone,
The rider formerly known as DanZZR here. Thought I'd use my real name for a change.
Hats off to Bazz for making this happen. Can't thank him enough.
Good to see people finding the new site. Hopefully will see some ride reports soon.

Well done Kwaka. If the old FR is dead and I'm not convinced yet, but if it is, happy to coordinate rides in Tassie, if that is how this group developes. Once again well done.

looking forward to our first ride.
You have done a fantastic job here Kwaka. The forum looks great, works brilliantly and has everything a site like this needs. Well done.
I wouldn't know you if I ran over you but looking forward to meeting up at a ride sometime.
Whilst I understand the need for debate and input from forum members, I think there comes a time in some discussions you will need to take on the 'benevolent dictator' role and make some executive decisions.
I'm looking forward to getting my iRide/Farroad/Davo Rode number. Whatever you call it.

Just great! Fabulous to be here for the growth. Like sarg, I'm finding riding more painful than enjoyable. And love ride reports.
