Title: Shaft Driven ...
Post by: Roy on Oct 22, 2023, 12:47 AM
Good morning every trusted and passionate motorcycling member ..Yeah .
Pretty sure it's still morning everywhere in this amazing country ,We call home .
Hope all are well ..
Anyways ...
I find it both puzzling and a tad amusing ..
That in our world of motorcycles .. Shaft driven bikes are becoming  rarer and rarer .
However ...
On the other hand .. our non petrol, peddle powered , two wheeled push bikes , are starting to embrace shaft drives .
I don't get it .

Yes . I will be going too NSW  High country in 2 weeks , truly looking forward to that ride .
Cheers all .
Take care out there , stay safe

It is interesting Roy. It is also interesting that shaft driven bikes still dominate the carpark at any LD event.

My BMW and FJR's are all shaft-driven. For my 2016 BMW GSA, BMW inspected it last year and replaced the shaft and bearing for not cost. I like!

Good that BMW is supporting the bike that way- the job wouldn't have been cheap.  I haven't heard of any of the Honda STOwners group needing to do this on their transmission, and most of our bikes are over the 100,000km mark. There was one front shaft seal some time ago, and that's about it.  Some old neglected ST1100s report spline damage.
