Am I correct in understanding there is no time limit for the ride there? That the purpose of the event is to be there?

That is correct.  Plenty of people make it an Ironbutt challenge, since most easterners travel more than 1610kms to get there.  And there have been FarRider check-in people there in the past.  But the "owners" of the event don't mandate any special requirements except you be there on the date.

I'm a DNF, charging system problems. Fortunately I was able to limp back to Perth. Still, gutted. Ride well everyone!
