Tevvy thanks for the response mate.

I have already been in contact with Rav at the pub today again and made arrangements buddy.  If you look at my post above (#40) there is a link with the details of the meet.

Just encouraging people to get away from the normal ride by picking the location where people probably wouldn't normally go and encourage a few different approaches to see CWQ.

Im missing something Im sure.

Is there a colander or a thread with dates to go straight to for ride date/ location info?
Stupid I know but guys Ill drop into discussions about rides but a place to go look at next rides would be a great thing.
You know the big list sort of thing.

Cheers

I'm with you Gateman.
Since Farriders gave up the ghost, I've been hanging out to go for a decent ride somewhere. The ride to Border Village doesn't excite me much. Too much highway riding.
I'm keen to know who is in charge of this show, so we can get out there!

The Admin is snowed under with work.  There are Mods looking after the shop.  A Calendar may be forthcoming, but for now- it's just a matter of suggesting rides and dates.  Tackleberry put up Alpha for the EN#1 and I've proposed Theodore for EN#2 on July 22nd.  ES#1 was to Moulamein. You go to whatever you can.  Just no chance for long range planning unless people propose rides.  Traditionally there were 4 per year on the east, AFAIR.  Maybe someone down south will propose ES#2 for September.  All very ad hoc, and I'm not any kind of Admin, but where there's a need and a vacuum, someone steps in.  Even the Facebook "Get Together Rides" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1489424258204279) is pretty quiet in terms of proposed rides, and it's about the only Oz alternative apart from IBA which currently only offers one per year.

Thanks for your response Biggles. I liked the sound of the ride to Theodore. Coming from the Mornington Peninsula, we need to plan rides well ahead to be able to get to places in Queensland, etc.
So, what do we do now?

Hold on, keep checking in.  One of the Mods will put it up on Rally Master well before the date.

With one other, at most two, riders expressing interest in the Theodore ride, I'm going to let it pass.  We all have other things we can do on the 22nd, I know I do, so let's wait for better temperatures and a bit more interest.  If there is ever to be much interest in "Far Road" posting in general.   :'(

Yeah Biggles, I'm hearing you and I'm guilty as charged. But I'm afraid the truth is that the death of FarRiders really knocked the wind out of my sails. I'm pretty sure (though not certain) that the GTR will be for sale in the not too distant future. It'll break my heart, but it needs to be ridden.

There is always the memorial ride to Wilmington SA on the second weekend in September.  That's my plan for September.
